The mouth of the truth (1990)
The artist’s action is not structural, is not concentrated to transform the room into an art work. The artwork is represented by the presence of sculptures/furniture. These furniture have been transformed into sculptures realized in raw Russian pine. The main element is the large bed, transformed in a big catafalque with, to the center, the “mouth of the truth”, real reference and highly imaginative. The drawer is a monolith made vibrating from harmonious convexities, according to the vertical flutes. The room is also marked by the wide wardrobe which does not conceal anything. Instead, in its being alpha and omega, it represents the alternation of seasons, the beginning and the end. The sculptures “are ironic staging, subjected to parody, to the Shakespeariano entertainment, to the infinite opportunities offered by the contemporary life to an intellectual that lives in polemic with his time” (Marchiori)”.
