The Nest (1991)
It’s a room from the seductive suggestion, dominated from the primeval purity of the absolute white; the work of Paolo Icaro is characterized by the preponderant presence of the huge bed-sculpture, with a semi-ellipse shape, that is bundled up on itself such as an embrace of a wing, giving a sense of sure protection, of absolute. The bedspread, that simulates the feathering of the birds, donates softness and heat and becomes emotional center of the room, fulcrum and place of the encounter, of the life. From the bed it is possible to enjoy the sight of the sea and of the sky through a large glass door, element that adds poetry to poetry. There are no other material colors neither to break off the white uniformity. The wardrobe is itself space, same as the table and the chair, small iron sculptures that aspire to the transparency, to the immateriality.
A unrepeatable nest of love.
